1 Peter 3

Kids fight. Parents fight. Even nations fight. A good fight is when you’re fighting for the truth of God with his strength. A bad fight is when you’re fighting for revenge—to get even—in your own strength. Don’t try to get back at others for what they’ve done to you. Leave that to God. Instead, do the unexpected: Love them. Learn to fight with God’s boxing gloves from above. Pray for those who have hurt you the most and leave them in the hands of God. Then ask God for the strength to do or say something nice to them… today. You see, if you want God’s blessing on your life, you’ve got to get out of the revenge business.
Whenever you see, use, or think about gloves, let this lesson fit like a glove on your heart as it clicks and sticks:
I fight back with gloves of love.
